Hon. Kitnan Selvaraj,—To ask the Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development,—(1)
(a) Will he inform this House with regard to the Badulla District, of the number of—
(i) co-operative outlets;
(ii) co-operative outlets operating within the estate areas; and
(iii) co-operative outlets closed down in the last 10 years?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that cooperative societies have been established within the estate areas to facilitate the construction of houses and the provision of loans; and
(ii) if so, of the number of co-operative societies operating within the estate areas in the Badulla District?
(c) If not, why?
