Hon. (Dr.) S. Sri Bavanandarajah,— To ask the Minister of Energy,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the —
(i) total number of applications submitted in the Jaffna District for solar power grid connections since 2020;
(ii) number of applications that have been connected, approved, and are pending for grid connection; and
(iii) reasons for delays and the measures being taken to expedite the pending connections?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) whether there are allegations of illegal activities by certain CEB officials in relation to selected individuals;
(ii) of the actions taken to ensure fairness and transparency; and
(iii) of the steps provide to establish an independent grievance handling mechanism?
(c) Will he further inform this House of the —
(i) progress made toward achieving the 2030 renewable energy target;
(ii) number of approved renewable energy projects in the Northern Province; and
(iii) measures taken to strengthen coordination among CEB, ADB, and local authorities to facilities solar panel grid connections?
(d) If not, why?
