Hon. Dharmapriya Dissanayake,— To ask the Minister of Health and Mass Media,— (1)
(a) Will he state—
(i) the number of Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing plants, currently registered in the Ayurvedic medicine sector;
(ii) the names of them;
(iii) the steps that have been taken to regulate the Ayurvedic products;
(iv) whether any policy decision has been taken with regard to the use of social media networks for the marketing of Ayurveda products; and
(v) if so, the details of such policy?
(b) Is he aware that—
(i) advertisements are being circulated on social media networks claiming that certain Ayurvedic products have been registered; and
(ii) the public money is being defrauded by such advertisements?
(c) Will he inform this House, if so, of the action that will be taken in this regard?
(d) If not, why?
