Hon. (Dr.) V.S. Radhakrishnan,— To ask the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government,— (1)
(a) Is he aware that —
(i) only one divisional secretariat has been established for each of the Divisional Secretariat Divisions of Hanguranketha, Walapane and Kotmale in the Nuwara Eliya District; and
(ii) as far as the number of people living in the said areas is concerned, it has become problematic to provide the services needed by those people through only one Divisional Secretariat in each area?
(b) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he accepts that two Divisional Secretariats should be established for each of the areas mentioned in (a)(i) above; and
(ii) if so, of the measures that will be taken in that regard?
(c) If not, why?
