Hon. (Mrs.) Rohini Kumari Wijerathna,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether there are two projects under the Ministry as the ‘Green Dumbara Knuckles Project’ and the ‘Dumbara Green Empowerment Project’;
(ii) whether any financial assistance has been received from the ‘Green Climate Fund’ (GCF) and the ‘International Union for Conservation of Nature’ (IUCN) for the conservation of the watershed and river basins in the Knuckles Range;
(iii) if so, of the amount of the assistance and the projects for which the assistance was provided;
(iv) whether the financial assistance provided by the above institutions has been provided to Mahaweli Consultancy Bureau (Private) Limited;
(v) if so, of the amount of that assistance and the date on which it was provided;
(vi) of the activities carried out with the said money; and
(vii) of the current progress of the said activities?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) in addition to the above company, of the amount of money spent so far by the projects mentioned in (a)(i); and
(ii) of the activities for which the said money was spent and their current progress separately?
(c) If not, why?
