Hon. Lasith Bhashana Gamage,— To ask the Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that the current administration of the Co-operative Hospital Gampaha has been implicated in incidents of financial misappropriation, irregularities of corruption, and the misuse of property;
(ii) whether he accepts that no action has been taken to date, despite the co-operative members having reported these acts of fraud and corruption to the relevant authorities;
(iii) whether steps will be taken to conduct a formal investigation into these incidents of financial misappropriation, irregularities of corruption, and the misuse of vehicles;
(iv) of the time frame required to complete that; and
(v) of the actions that will be taken against the officials who are found guilty, following such investigation?
(b) If not, why?
