Hon. Ajith P. Perera,— To ask the Minister of Justice and National Integration,— (2)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that the official residence of the District Judge (formerly known as Chandrasekara Walawwa) located on ‘De Silva Road’, Panadura has been severely damaged due to unuse and lack of maintenance;
(ii) of the steps that will be taken to restore the said premises to usable condition;
(iii) of the details of the building that has been abandoned after being partially constructed within the said premises; and
(iv) of the amount of money that has been spent so far on the construction of the said building?
(b) Will he also inform this House of the —
(i) measures that will be taken to address the requirements for official residences for the Magistrates, District Judges and the High Court Judge serving in Panadura;
(ii) extent of the state lands situated near the Panadura seashore that were previously used for the official residences of judges; and
(iii) steps that will be taken to effectively utilize the said lands?
(c) If not, why?
