Hon. Stepni Fernando,— To ask the Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the number of factories —
(i) set up within the Industrial Development Board’s industrial zone in Ekala;
(ii) currently in operation; and
(iii) that have remained closed for more than three years without being in operation?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) of the steps taken by the Industrial Development Board with regard to the factories mentioned in (a) (iii) above;
(ii) whether there is a possibility of bringing those factories back under the Industrial Development Board and allocating those sites to investors who wish to start new industries; and
(iii) if so, of the measures taken in this regard?
(c) If not, why?
