Hon. (Prof.) L.M. Abeywickrama,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education,— (1)
(a) Will she inform this House —
(i) of the total amount spent on projects initiated to develop infrastructure facilities in schools in the Matara District under the ‘Nearest School-the Best School’ project; and
(ii) out of the projects mentioned in (i) above, of the number of projects that have been completed and those that could not be completed, separately?
(b) Will she also inform this House of the —
(i) obstacles exist that prevent the two teacher quarters at Urubokka National School in the Matara District, built under the aforementioned projects, from being utilized, as the said buildings have remained unused; and
(ii) measures that will be taken to make them usable?
(b) If not, why?
