Hon. (Dr.) Nandana Millagala,— To ask the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that the official residence of the OIC of the Police Station, and the land area, which is about 02 roods in extent located in Garagoda, Yatiyanthota, which had belonged to the Department of Sri Lanka Railways since around 1902 and was later taken over to the Sri Lanka Police, has been transferred to another party and an unauthorized construction has been carried out thereon;
(ii) of the legal basis for the transfer of the said property to another private party;
(iii) of the transferee/s concerned, if the above property has been transferred legally;
(iv) whether the said building and the land relating thereto have been officially transferred in the past for carrying out political activities; and
(v) of the legal action that will be taken after a formal investigation conducted regrading the alteration of the said old building and the unauthorized construction carried out there?
(b) If not, why?
