Hon. Roshan Akmeemana,— To ask the Minister of Environment,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the —
(i) extent of forest reserves gazetted or identified under the Forest Conservation Department in the Trincomalee District and the extent of forests proposed to be converted into forest reserves in hectares;
(ii) extent of lands that have been settled or used for cultivation for a long time but have subsequently been taken under the Department of Forest Conservation separately for each Divisional Secretariat Division in the said district;
(iii) extent of lands recommended to return from the said lands separately for each Divisional Secretariat Division; and
(iv) programme that has been prepared to control the elephant-human conflict in the Trincomalee District?
(b) If not, why?
