Hon. (Mrs.) Oshani Umanga,— To ask the Minister of Labour,— (1)
(a) Is he is aware that—
(i) the Employees' Provident Fund members have been facilitated with the opportunity to receive an amount equivalent to 30% of the existing balance in their Employees' Provident Fund since 2015;
(ii) it is possible to obtain an amount equivalent to 30% for the second time, 10 years after obtaining the amount equivalent to 30% for the first time; and
(iii) the members of the fund have to undergo various difficulties in obtaining the relevant amount for the second time?
(b) Will he inform this House of the measures that have been taken to minimize the above-mentioned difficulties?
(c) If not, why?
