Hon. Imran Maharoof,— To ask the Minister of Health and Mass Media,— (1)
(a) Will he state —
(i) the number of child births that have occurred at Trincomalee General Hospital, as well as at the Base Hospitals in Muttur, Kinniya and Kantale, separately in each month from 2024 to date, separately;
(ii) whether steps have been taken to develop the said hospitals by reviewing the required number of doctors, other staff members and other facilities in relation to the number of child births referred to above;
(iii) whether he is aware of the difficulties faced by patients who are transferred from Trincomalee Hospital to major hospitals such as Batticaloa, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa;
(iv) whether steps will be taken to develop the Trincomalee General Hospital to address the aforementioned difficulties;
(v) the names of the hospitals governed by the central government and the provincial council separately among the above hospitals; and
(vi) the number of inpatients and outpatients treated at each of the above hospitals separately in 2024 and 2025 to date?
(b) If not, why?
