Hon. (Dr.) Najith Indika,— To ask the Minister of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the —
(i) number of training centres available under the Department of Social Services for providing vocational education to the persons with disabilities;
(ii) number of students currently receiving training in these centres;
(iii) method of recruiting students to these centres;
(iv) number of students recruited annually to these centres;
(v) number of applications received by these centres for vocational training, annually; and
(vi) measures taken in respect of the students other than those recruited from aforesaid applications?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) whether there are sufficient trainers at these centres;
(ii) if not, of the measures that have been taken to recruit new trainers; and
(iii) of the annual expenditure for maintaining these centres?
(c) If not, why?
