Hon. (Mrs.) A.M.M.M. Rathwaththe,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of telecommunication towers that have been permitted to be erected in the Dehiattakandiya Division of Mahaweli System C by the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka for telecommunication companies;
(ii) if the state-owned lands have been leased out for this purpose, of the process that has been followed there; and
(iii) whether there is a mechanism for an individual, to whom a plot of state-owned land was disposed of, to claim the value of that land if a telephone tower has been constructed on it?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether a portion of the land that has been allotted for industrial works in the Nawamedagama Division has been disposed of to construct a Buddhist Centre;
(ii) if so, of the extent of the said portion of land; and
(iii) whether the lease payments for the Dialog telecommunication tower, which has been erected near the plot of land allotted for the construction of a Buddhist Centre, have been duly collected?
(c) If not, why?
