Hon. Thilina Samarakoon,— To ask the Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation,— (1)
(a) Will he state —
(i) whether Maga Naguma is still functioning;
(ii) if so, its offices and industrial yards that are functioning; and
(iii) if defunct, the offices and industrial yards that have been closed down?
(b) Will he also state —
(i) whether he is aware of a Maga Naguma yard in Ganewalpola, Kekirawa in Anuradhapura;
(ii) its present state;
(iii) the reasons for its closure;
(iv) the machinery and vehicles available there, separately;
(v) their present value;
(vi) whether a programme is in place to use them for developing Sri Lanka’s roads;
(vii) if the centre is no longer functioning, the basis of its acquisition;
(viii) the institution which will acquire it;
(ix) the time duration that will take for its acquisition; and
(x) the time period that it will be acquired?
(c) If not, why?
