Hon. Thilina Samarakoon,—To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation,— (1)
(a) Will he state —
(i) whether lands in the Anuradhapura District have been provided on annual or long-term lease basis;
(ii) whether lands in the Ipalogama and Kekirawa Divisional Secretariat Divisions have been provided on lease for developing; and
(iii) if so, the extent of those lands and the durations for which the lands have been provided, separately?
(b) Will he also state —
(i) the extent of lands provided on lease in Grama Niladhari Divisions No. 519-Ihalakagama, No. 621-Ihalagama, and No. 618- Karambawatte, separately;
(ii) whether lease agreements have been signed for it;
(iii) if so, the relevant parties;
(iv) the area and the term of lease of each land, separately,
(v) whether the said lands have been developed;
(vi) whether the lands which have not been developed have been re-acquired;
(vii) whether the above lands have been sub-leased;
(viii) whether he is aware that an elephant fence has been erected around above lands; and
(ix) whether approval has been obtained for it?
(c) If not, why?
