Hon. Sivagnanam Shritharan,—To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education,— (1)
(a) Will she admit that —
(i) there is a national school known as Kili/Mulankavil Maha Vidyalaya in the Poonakari Divisional Secretariat Division of the Kilinochchi District;
(ii) the said school has experienced a setback in its academic activities due to the current shortage of teachers and other staff, as well as a lack of furniture and resources; and
(iii) improving the education of the students in this school is not feasible without addressing those vacancies/shortages?
(b) Will she inform this House of the —
(i) number of academic and non-academic staff members in the said school, separately;
(ii) reasons for not filling those vacancies, though there are 17 vacancies for junior staff remain at the said school;
(iii) date on which the building requirements of the said school will be fulfilled;
(iv) date on which the furniture shortage of the above-mentioned school will be addressed; and
(v) date on which the staff vacancies of the said school will be completely filled?
(c) If not, why?
