Hon. Kitnan Selvaraj,—To ask the Minister of Plantation and Community Infrastructure,— (1)
(a) Is he aware that —
(i) the owner of the 53-acre parcel of tea cultivation and a luxurious bungalow forming part of the Kalugalle Estate located in Ella Pradeshiya Sabha area in the Badulla District is in India; and
(ii) a false claim has been made by an individual for the land concerned posing as the owner of the said estate ?
(b) Will he inform this House whether —
(i) he accepts that it is illegal to forcibly enter the aforesaid land and pluck tea leaves; and
(ii) the government can take action to acquire the land concerned as its ownership is not clear?
(c) If not why ?
