Hon. Ravindra Bandara,— To ask the Minister of Defence,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the number of civilian employees serving in the Army, the Air Force and the Navy, separately;
(ii) of their professions;
(iii) of the number of those confirmed in their posts;
(iv) of the number of those currently serving on temporary basis;
(v) of the year in which temporary civilian employees were last confirmed;
(vi) whether action will be taken to confirm the civilian employees currently working on temporary basis;
(vii) if so, of the measures taken in this regard; and
(viii) of the procedure applicable in confirming civilian employees who are serving on temporary basis?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) whether there are vacancies for civilian employees in the tri forces at present; and
(ii) of the programme that has been formulated to fill those vacancies?
(c) If not, why?
