Hon. (Dr.) Pathmanathan Sathiyalingam,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education,— (1)
(a) Will she admit that —
(i) private educational institutions, alongside school education, play a considerable contribution in educational development;
(ii) the lack of a legal mechanism to regulate those institutions has led to numerous issues; and
(iii) insufficient attention is given to the quality of education provided by private educational institutions, the educational standards of teachers, the quality of infrastructure facilities, and the availability of basic health facilities?
(b) Will she state —
(i) if so, the actions that will be taken in that regard; and
(ii) the time frame within which such actions will be implemented?
(c) If not, why?
