Hon. (Prof.) L.M. Abeywickrama,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the —
(i) extent of the land known as ‘Ratalankawa’ belonging to the Land Reform Commission situated within the Kamburupitiya Divisional Secretariat Division in the Matara District;
(ii) extent of land allotted to each institution from the land concerned, separately; and
(iii) extent of land allotted from the aforesaid land to the Industrial Development Board?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether a proper approval is available for the allocation of plots from above land to employees of the Land Reform Commission;
(ii) if so, whether a copy of the letter pertaining to such approval will be tabled;
(iii) if not, whether the approval granted for a different land owned by the Land Reform Commission was invoked to allocate parcels of this land fraudulently and unlawfully; and
(iv) of the action taken regarding the families who have been unlawfully occupying the said land for some time?
(c) If not, why?
