Hon. Rohitha Abeygunawardhana, — To ask the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the —
(i) number of liquor licences that have been legally issued for the sale of liquor so far;
(ii) types of such licences; and
(iii) names of the holders of the licences concerned?
(b) Will he also inform this House of the —
(i) number of distilleries that produce liquor in Sri Lanka;
(ii) names of them; and
(iii) names of the licence holders of the said distilleries?
(c) Will he further inform this House—
(i) amount of tax levied on a bottle of locally produced liquor;
(ii) total tax revenue that was earned by the Excise Department from them in the year 2024; and
(iii) number of bottles of liquor sold during the year 2024?
(d) If not, why?
