Hon. M.S. Uthumalebbe,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education,— (1)
(a) Is she aware that —
(i) action had been taken to establish separate education zones for the Uhana and Pottuvil areas in the Ampara District, and that the Governor of the Eastern Province had also given his recommendations for the same; and
(ii) however, the Ministry of Education has not granted its approval for the same?
(b) Will she inform this House —
(i) if so, whether steps will be taken to establish separate education zones for the Uhana and Pottuvil areas; and
(ii) of the steps that have been taken in that regard?
(c) If not, why?
