Hon. M. Nizam Kariapper, PC,— To ask the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that certain individuals holding dual citizenship are serving as Ambassadors and High Commissioners representing Sri Lanka;
(ii) if so, of the names of such Ambassadors and High Commissioners, their dates of appointment and other relevant details separately;
(iii) whether he is aware that appointing of individuals with dual citizenship to high-level diplomatic positions could give rise to potential conflicts of interest; and
(iv) if so, of the measures that are intended to be taken to prevent/address such conflicts of interest?
(b) If not, why?
