Hon. Rohitha Abeygunawardhana,—To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the —
(i) date on which the animal census was conducted in Sri Lanka;
(ii) amount of money that was spent on the said census;
(iii) objectives of the said animal census;
(iv) measures that will be taken to fulfill those objectives;
(v) progress pertaining to the said census as at present; and
(vi) number of toque macaques, monkeys, giant squirrels and peacocks separately as per the said census?
(b) Will he also inform this House of the —
(i) number of Grama Niladhari Divisions in which the animal census referred to above was conducted;
(ii) Grama Niladhari Divisions in which the animal census was not conducted; and
(iii) reasons for not conducting the animal census in the Grama Niladhari Divisions concerned?
(c) If not, why?
