Hon. Dharmapriya Dissanayake,—To ask the Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation,— (1)
(a) Is he aware that the —
(i) various problems have cropped up in the acquisition of lands for the construction of the Central Expressway; and
(ii) compensation has not been paid to a large number of landowners for the lands acquired up until now?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether a methodology has been prepared for the payment of the compensation payable to them;
(ii) if not, of the reasons for that;
(iii) whether he is aware that the payment of the said compensation has been delayed for a long time; and
(iv) if so, of the time it will take to pay the said compensation?
(c) If not, why?
