Hon. Lasith Bhashana Gamage,— To ask the Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that expired food items have been accumulated at the Welisara Warehouse Complex belonging to the Cooperative Wholesale Establishment;
(ii) of the reason for accumulating them at the said location;
(iii) of the reason for their expiry; and
(iv) of the action that will be taken against the officials responsible for the expiry of such a large quantity of food items?
(b) If not, why?
