Hon. (Dr.) Kavinda Heshan Jayawardhana,— To ask the Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the number of branches of co-operative rural banks that have been registered under the Department of Co-operative Development of the Western Province;
(ii) of the names of such branches;
(iii) out of those co-operative rural banks, of the branches that are non-operational at present; and
(iv) of the measures that will be taken to ensure justice to those depositors of the above banks who have been unable to withdraw their savings due to this state of affairs?
(b) If not, why?
