Hon. W. H. M. Dharmasena,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the extent of the arable government lands in the Moneragala District;
(ii) of the extent of the lands owned by the Land Reform Commission in the Moneragala District;
(iii) whether he is aware that the issuance of deeds for the lands concerned has been suspended at present;
(iv) whether he is aware that title deeds/ land permits have not yet been issued to persons who have been possessing the lands belonging to the Land Reform Commission for long periods of about 25-30 years; and
(v) whether steps will be taken to issue title deeds/ land permits to the persons concerned?
(b) If not, why?
