Hon. Danushka Ranganath,— To ask the Minister of Environment,— (2)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the measures that have been taken to protect natural streams;
(ii) of the extent of land related to the stream reservations that should be available alongside the natural streams;
(iii) whether the law is enforced against the persons who have forcibly acquired stream reservations; and
(iv) if so, of the measures that will be taken in that regard?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that stream reservations have been given as freehold lands;
(ii) of the extent of stream reservations in Kalutara District that have been given on freehold basis; and
(iii) whether measures will be taken to reacquire the stream reservations referred to above?
(c) If not, why?
