Hon. Hector Appuhamy,— To ask the Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources,— (2)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the quantity of fish purchased by the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation from fishermen from the year 2015 up to now separately in each year;
(ii) of the said quantities of fish as a percentage of the total fish harvest in Sri Lanka in each of the years, separately;
(iii) whether he admits that the intervention of the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation is not at all sufficient in purchasing fish and in maintaining the price of fish in the market at a stable level; and
(iv) if so, of the measures that will be taken to rectify this situation?
(b) If not, why?
