Hon. Kins Nelson,— To ask the Minister of Energy,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the —
(i) date on which the Cabinet of Ministers issued instructions to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation to explore the feasibility of establishing a new oil refinery in the Trincomalee area by engaging a suitable investor, instead of developing the infrastructure facilities of the Sapugaskanda oil refinery; and
(ii) measures that have been taken so far and the measures that are to be taken in the future, separately, towards the construction of a new oil refinery in the Trincomalee area?
(b) If not, why?
