Hon. Chamara Sampath Dasanayake,— To ask the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the number of duty-free vehicle permits issued to government employees since the suspension of importation of vehicles to Sri Lanka;
(ii) of the decision that has been taken regarding the importation of vehicles under the aforesaid permits;
(iii) whether the importation of vehicles under the aforesaid permits has been suspended;
(iv) if so, how long the period of suspension will be in effect; and
(v) of the procedure which will be followed if permission is granted for importing vehicles under those permits?
(b) If not, why?
