Hon. (Mrs.) Oshani Umanga,—To ask the Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the number of industries currently operating in the industrial parks in Sri Lanka, their production and the business type they belong to, separately;
(ii) of the number of industries that have been operated in the industrial parks, but have been closed down now;
(iii) whether industrial parks are currently operating at their maximum capacity;
(iv) whether there is space in the said industrial parks for starting new industries; and
(v) whether a census has been conducted regarding the number of small and medium scale industries operating in Sri Lanka?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) whether it has been planned to start new industrial parks;
(ii) if so, of the plans that have been made for that; and
(iii) of the expected way of raising capital for the above purpose?
(c) If not, why?
