Hon. Ravindra Bandara,—To ask the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports,— (1)
(a) Is he aware that —
(i) the Bandarawela Public Playground (Municipal Ground) is not in a condition fit to hold sports events;
(ii) there is no proper system to drain water from the ground concerned; and
(iii) Cricket matches cannot be played owing to the drains system constructed there?
(b) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the amounts of money spent from 2015 to 2024 to renovate that ground in relation to each year, separately;
(ii) whether an inquiry will be conducted in regard to the damages caused to the above ground;
(iii) whether steps would be taken to renovate the ground to enable the players as well as school children in Bandarawela area to use it; and
(iv) If so, of the future plans in that regard?
(c) If not, why?
