Hon. Danushka Ranganath,—To ask the Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation,— (1)
(a) Is he aware that —
(i) there was a project named KL-2 Project (Kalutara Package 2) under the I-Road project in Kalutara District;
(ii) the above named project has been suspended partway as the relevant contractor has initiated legal proceedings; and
(iii) the residents of the area have been subjected to serious inconvenience because of that?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of roads in Agalawatte and Matugama electoral divisions which were due to be developed under that project;
(ii) of the names of the contractor company/companies pertaining to that project;
(iii) of the ownership of those company/companies;
(iv) of the present status of the above mentioned legal proceedings; and
(v) whether steps will be taken to complete the project concerned?
(c) If not, why?
