Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minister of Energy,—(1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the number of private electricity generating companies operating in Sri Lanka from the year 2015 to date for each year separately;
(ii) of the names and addresses of these companies along with the generating capacity of each company separately;
(iii) of the number of electricity units that each of the above company provided to Ceylon Electricity Board and amount paid to each of the company from year 2015 to date separately;
(iv) of the measures to be taken by the Ceylon Electricity Board to increase the electricity generation capacity; and
(v) whether the electricity generation methods are renewable or thermal?
(b) If not, why?
