Hon. Ajith Gihan,— To ask the Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources,— (1)
(a) Is he aware that the —
(i) shrimp farming, which is a foreign exchange generating industry in Sri Lanka, has been faced with a crisis at present; and
(ii) people in Puttlam District gained a huge economic strength from that industry?
(b) Will he inform this House of the—
(i) reasons for not taking steps to develop that industry; and
(ii) steps that will be taken to develop the industry?
(c) If not, why?
