Hon. Rohana Bandara,—To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the extent of paddy fields that were destroyed due to adverse weather conditions that prevailed in Sri Lanka in November 2024, in acres in each district, separately;
(ii) of the reduction in the expected paddy harvest because of this;
(iii) of the extent of paddy fields that have been replanted out of those destroyed, in acres;
(iv) whether compensation has been provided for the destroyed paddy fields; and
(v) if so, of the details thereof?
(b) If not, why?
