Hon. Nalin Bandara Jayamaha,—To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education,— (1)
(a) Will she inform this House of the —
(i) objectives behind the establishment of the Department of Educational Publications;
(ii) number of the undistributed copies of school textbooks remaining in schools and centers and the number of copies of school textbooks that could have been reused, separately, in each of the years from 2020 to 2025;
(iii) financial value of those school textbooks;
(iv) amount spent on printing school textbooks in the year 2021, when the use of school textbooks was at a minimum level; and
(v) measures that will be taken to distribute school textbooks in time?
(b) If not, why?
