Hon. Ajith P. Perera,—To ask the Minister of Energy,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the —
(i) price paid by the Ceylon Electricity Board to a unit of electricity generated by the Waste-to-Energy Power Plant located at Kerawalapitiya;
(ii) number of Metric Tons of waste required per day for the above Power Plant to run optimally; and
(iii) average value of the waste supplied daily to that Power Plant in 2024 in Metric Tons?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) of the names of the Local Government authorities that supply waste to the above Power Plant;
(ii) of the volume of ash that has accumulated at the above Power Plant premises after burning waste;
(iii) of the steps that will be taken to manage the ash released by the Power Plant in an environment-friendly manner; and
(iv) whether an Environment Protection License had been obtained in relation to the above Power Plant for 2023?
(c) If not, why?
