Hon. Chaminda Wijesiri,— To ask the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the —
(i) date on which the then government decided to reduce the tax imposed on sugar;
(ii) factors that influenced for such decision;
(iii) companies that have imported sugar into Sri Lanka after the tax that had been imposed on sugar was reduced;
(iv) tax revenue that was lost due to the decision mentioned in (i) above; and
(v) action that has been taken so far regarding the concerned fraud on the tax imposed on sugar?
(b) If not, why?
