Hon. Chaminda Wijesiri,—To ask the Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether the prevalence of sub-standard coconut oil which is not suitable for consumption has been detected in the Sri Lankan market;
(ii) if so, of the way such sub-standard coconut oil is supplied to the market;
(iii) of the tactics that are used for it;
(iv) of the measures that have been taken to prevent them; and
(v) of the reasons for high standard coconut oil is not supplied to the market?
(b) Will he also inform this House of the —
(i) problems faced by the owners of small and medium-scale oil mills; and
(ii) solutions that will be given to those problems?
(c) If not, why?
