Hon. Shanakiyan Rajaputhiran Rasamanickam,—To ask the Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that no other step has been taken so far than the laying of the foundation stone pertaining to the construction of the Mandur- Kurumanweli bridge, which is a major bridge that is meant to connect Paduwankarai to Eluwankarai in the Baticaloa district;
(ii) if so, the reasons for not constructing the above-mentioned bridge so far; and
(iii) of the steps that will be taken to construct the said bridge?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that no step has been taken so far to construct anew the Ambilanthurai, Kurukkal Madam bridge, which is meant to connect South west Manmunai, Manmunai South and Eruwilpattu in the Baticaloa district;
(ii) if so, the reasons for not constructing the above mentioned bridge so far; and
(iii) of the steps that will be taken to construct the said bridge?
(c) Will he further inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that no step has been taken so far to construct anew the Thigilivettei–Sandiweli bridge in the Koralepattu South Divisional Secretary’s division and the Punnakkuda–Kaluwankeni bridge in the Eravur Divisional Secretary’s division; and
(ii) if so, the steps that will be taken in that regard?
(d) If not, why?
