Hon. Hesha Withanage,—To ask the Minister of Women and Child Affairs,— (1)
(a) Will she inform this House —
(i) of the number of early childhood development centres in existence in Sri Lanka;
(ii) of the number of centres which have obtained registration with the government;
(iii) whether early childhood development centres are allowed to operate without government registration; and
(iv) of the basic qualifications, that need be completed before operating an early childhood development centre?
(b) Will she also inform the House —
(i) whether there is an action plan for monitoring early childhood development centres; and
(ii) if so, what that course of action?
(c) If not, why?
