Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture,—
(a) Is he aware that a large extent of paddy lands in the Kirala Kale area situated on either side of the Nilwala Valley in Matara District lie fallow ?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether plans have been made to make the aforesaid lands suitable for the cultivation of paddy or any other crop ;
(ii) if so, what that plan is;
(iii) whether necessary allocations have been made by now for the activities related to cultivating the aforesaid lands; and
(iv) if so, the amount of money that has been allocated ?
(c) If not, why?
