Hon. Jayantha Samaraweera,— To ask the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the number of archeological monuments identified by the Department of Archeology at present;
(ii) the name and the province, district and the Divisional Secretary’s division of location of each such archeological monument, separately;
(iii) the number of archeological monuments that have been declared by Gazette Notifications as at 01.06.2023; and
(iv) the name and the province, district and the Divisional Secretary’s division of location of each such archeological monument, separately?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of archeological monuments in which excavations and conservation activities are carried out, out of the archeological monuments mentioned in the (a) (iii) above;
(ii) the name and the province, district and the Divisional Secretary’s division of location of each such archeological monument, separately;
(iii) the number of archeological monuments which have been declared by Gazette Notifications but where conservation activities have not yet been carried out; and
(iv) the name and the province, district and the Divisional Secretary’s division of location of each such archeological monument, separately?
(c) If not, why?
