Hon. D. Weerasingha,— To ask the Minister of Trade, Commerce and Food Security,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of Multi-Purpose Cooperative Societies established in Ampara district;
(ii) of the services provided by the aforesaid Societies;
(iii) of the area where the highest number of Cooperative Outlets have been established in the district; and
(iv) of the measures taken to transform the cooperative movement into
an extensive public service?
(b) If not, why?
