Hon. Sajith Premadasa,— To ask the Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities,—
(a) Is he aware that pledge was made under the Jana Sevana programme of “Mahinda Chinthana-Dinawamu Sri Lanka” manifesto that a housing loan scheme with the facility of paying only the interest within the first five years would be set up ?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the year in which the above mentioned Loan Scheme was initiated as per the aforesaid pledge;
(ii) of the number of families to which the above mentioned loans have been granted under the aforesaid scheme so far; and
(iii) the basis on which the beneficiaries of housing loans were selected ?
(c) If not, why ?

ගරු කථානායකතුමනි, ඉදිකිරීම්, ඉංජිනේරු සේවා, නිවාස හා පොදු පහසුකම් අමාත්යතුමා වෙනුවෙන් මා එම ප්රශ්නයට පිළිතුර දෙනවා.
(අ) ඔව්.
(ආ) (i) පළමු වසර පහේදී පොලිය පමණක් ගෙවීමේ පහසුකම් සහිත ණය යෝජනා ක්රමයක් වෙනුවට ඉතා අඩු පොලියට සහ තවත් වරප්රසාද ගණනාවක් ඇතුළත් කරමින් නිවාස ණය ලබා දීමේ යෝජනා ක්රමයක් 2005 සිට මේ දක්වා ක්රියාත්මක වේ. ඇමුණුම සභාගත* කරමි.
(ii) පවුල් 94,834යි.
(iii) නිවාස ණය සඳහා ප්රතිලාභීන් තෝරා ගැනීමේදී නිවාස අවශ්යතාවය ඇති, ඒ සඳහා පෙර සුදානම් හා ආපසු ගෙවීමේ හැකියාව ඇති අයදුම්කරුවන් තෝරා ගැනීම පදනම වේ.
